Moksha Peepal Tree (મોક્ષ પીપળો)

Once, Shri Bal Ghanshyam climbed a Pipal tree. Seeing Him high up in the Pipal tree, His maternal uncle, Motiram Mama, asked Him to come down.

However, Shri Bal Ghanshyam did not come down from the tree. Instead, according to the wishes of Motiram Mama, He revealed different kinds of fruits on the leaves of the Pipal tree. Not only that, He also plucked and gave the fruits to His maternal uncle according to his wishes.

Therefore, this Pipal tree came to be known as the Moksha Pipal Tree.

The original Pipal tree fell in 1955 CE. A sacred canopy and the divine lotus footprints of Shri Hari have been installed at the place where the tree once stood.

શ્રી બાળ ઘનશ્યામ એક વખત પીપળાના ઝાડ પર ચડી ગયા હતા. તેમને પીપળાના ઝાડ ઉપર ચઢેલા જોઈ તેમના મોતીરામ મામાએ નીચે ઉતરી જવા કહ્યું.

શ્રી બાળ ઘનશ્યામ ઝાડ પરથી નીચે ઉતર્યા નહીં, પરંતુ તેમણે મોતીરામ મામાની ઇચ્છા અનુસાર પીપળાના પાંદડે-પાંદડે જુદી-જુદી જાતના ફળોનાં દર્શન કરાવ્યાં. એટલું જ નહીં, મામાની ઇચ્છા અનુસાર ફળો પણ તોડી આપ્યાં હતા.

આથી આ પીપળો મોક્ષ પીપળાના નામથી ઓળખાય છે.

આ પીપળો ઈ.સ. ૧૯૫૫માં પડી ગયો છે. વૃક્ષની જગ્યાએ પ્રસાદીની છત્રી અને ચરણાંવિંદ પધરાવવામાં આવેલાં છે.
