Once, Shri Bal Ghanshyam was travelling to the village of Bhetiya with His father, Dharmadev, and His maternal uncle, Motiram Mama.
On the way, Dharmadev asked Motiram Mama, “Where have you planted the rice?” Motiram Mama pointed toward a nearby lake and replied, “There.”
The area where the rice had been planted had become flooded with water, turning it into a lake, and the rice crop could be seen submerged in the water.
Seeing this, Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj walked into the water to the place where the rice had been planted and pressed the toe of His right foot firmly into the earth.
As soon as He did so, the earth split open with a loud sound, and all the excess water drained into the earth. In this way, the rice crop was saved.
All the villagers who witnessed this divine event were blessed with the darshan of Shri Hari in the form of Lord Ramachandra.
From that time onward, this lake in Bhetiya village came to be known as Ramsagar or Dharm Talav.
Therefore, this lake is considered a sacred place blessed by the divine prasadi of Shri Hari.
