Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj performed many divine water sports and pastimes in this Narayan Sarovar. One day, Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj went to this Narayan Sarovar, located opposite the temple, to bathe with His father, Dharmadev.
It was a very hot summer day. Due to the intense heat, the water in the Narayan Sarovar had dried up considerably, causing the aquatic creatures living in the lake to suffer and struggle for survival. Seeing their pitiable condition, compassion arose in the heart of Dharmadev.
As the Antaryami (the Knower of all hearts), Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj understood His father's feelings. He therefore went to the middle of the Narayan Sarovar and inserted His stick into the ground. Immediately, the earth split open and the sacred waters of Ganga emerged from the depths of the earth. A powerful stream of water began to flow, and within moments, the entire lake was filled with water.
In this way, Shri Hari fulfilled the heartfelt resolve of Dharmadev and protected the aquatic creatures living in the lake.
On another occasion, after enjoying fruits with His friends from the orchards of Chhapiya, Bal Ghanshyam would come to this lake to wash His hands. Knowing of this divine prasadi, Indra, the king of the gods, came to this lake in the form of a fish to partake of that sacred prasadi.
Thus, this Narayan Sarovar is a place of immense divine prasadi and holds great spiritual significance.
